Myth Becomes Reality

The theories are true. Many years of speculation, worrying, and arguing have finally come to an end. 2012 is here, and is happening. A scientist out in Alaska was gazing into the starry night with his high-powered telescope when he spotted an enormous mass peacefully resting in space. Though this mass was not peaceful at all. The scientist immediately contacted local authorities and soon the word was out. An exhausting day of research, examination and theory led to the conclusion of the mass; a asteroid roughly the size of Australia had its course set straight into the mid-Atlantic. Such devastation would cause massive tidal waves wiping out 3/4 of the populated lands world-wide. Later diagnosis concluded the arrival time: approximately 25 days. Two days clarification of all the data led to a world-wide broadcast of the horrendous news. The world as we know could end.

You have roughly 25 days until the earth could be destroyed, what do you do? When the asteroid does hit, do you try to survive knowing how horrid the conditions would be afterwards?

Knock knock, who's there?

What if your most memorable diseased person knocked on your door. You open the door, your mouth drops to the floor and you are completely speechless. This person asks where your manners are and walks in your house uninvited. You finally figure asking how this diseased person is lively walking around your house like everything is okay would be totally useless. Extremely confused, but rather amused, you finally gather the courage to ask them one question. What would you ask?

Spiderman Goes Green

What if you woke up one morning, your entire body was green and sharp scales covered your skin. You hesitate to open your bedroom door while thinking "I am an alien lizard." Instead, you hide in your room all day, confused, scared, but somewhat amused as you look at your new body.
The day lasts an eternity. You feel suffocated by the walls around you, you can't leave your room. You then bang your fists against the wall and then lean up against it. You're stuck. You cling to the wall like spiderman. With a satisfying smirk on your face you proceed to climb the walls and ceiling of your bedroom. The feeling is overwhelming. You're a green-lizard-spiderman!
Nightfall approaches. You climb out your window and onto the roof where you look at the stars. You play with your scales, but cut yourself on the sharp edges. You bleed, the blood is still red; what a relief. You realize you cannot hide in your room forever;you must expose yourself to your family.
You believe your family would be understanding, but are clearly unsure about the rest of the world. After all, you are now a freak of nature. Do you expose yourself to the world showing your new abilities? You could become some science experiment and be completely dehumanized. Or do you spend your life hiding, looking for a way to reverse this new you.

Fire!

You work in a power plant. The fire alarm goes off and everyone from the building begins to evacuate. A voice comes over the loud speaker stating that this is not a drill for all staff to quickly leave the building immediately.

People start to panic. You are still on the fourth floor. You head down the stairs, it's crowded with frightened people. You look for an alternate stairway, there's one down the hallway near the cafeteria. You open the door and the stairwell is empty. You sigh with relief as you bolt down the stairs.

The forth floor becomes the third floor, the third becomes the second, and finally the second becomes the first; safety. You put your hand on the door, it's hot. But safety is so close and you open it anyways, a decision you highly regret. The door blows open sending you flying back along with a gust of fierce flames. All you remember is the intense heat overpowering your body and tearing apart your skin.

You wake up in the hospital. The doctors ask you if you feel any pain, you're speechless. You're speechless because your body is in too much pain to even describe. You overhear doctor speaking to the nurse. The only words you make out is "amputate, leg, and arm." Not only are you speechless again, but you are scared and just want to know whats going on.

*If you were to lose a limb, whether it would be an arm or a leg, which one would you rather lose? Which of the two would you feel you would able to adapt to the easiest?
